☀️«Mission I̶m̶ possible» was the name of the retreat that took place July 6-12, 2024 on the shores of the Adriatic Sea in the picturesque city of Crikvenica in Croatia.
“I see the happy, smiling faces of people who have restored their souls and bodies from the fatigue of the daily routine of living with disabilities…” This vision was planted in the heart of Nataliya Bolchuk, founder of Agape Ukraine. And thanks to God’s children from different countries this dream became a reality.
In total, 130 people participated in the retreat, including around 80 people with disabilities and their families who were evacuated to Western Europe during the war.
It was an unforgettable vacation of body and soul for families affected by the war and who have been caring for relatives with physical or mental disabilities for years. As one mother who cares for two daughters with disabilities said, “During the retreat, I felt like a woman. For the first time in my life, my body and soul rested.”
Indeed, this retreat for people with disabilities and their families served as a time of physical and emotional recovery, a time of support and encouragement. God fulfilled dreams and allowed people with disabilities and their families to experience incredible emotions. For many people with special needs, going to the sea was an impossible dream. Thanks to the volunteers, more than 30 people in wheelchairs were able to swim in the sea!
It was also a blessed time of reflection and learning together in small groups about eternal things, about Christ and about the hope that only God gives.
It was especially touching to witness and listen to the various creative presentations by people with disabilities during the talent night.
We are grateful to God, the organizers, sponsors and volunteers for such a powerful work. We thank everyone who contributed prayerfully, physically, and financially to fulfilling the dreams of many people with disabilities.
